Halloween is here and only one thing is scarier than the ghouls and goblins of this year’s elections. Because nothing is scarier than fascists. Or less American. And as we barrel towards the most consequential election of our lifetimes, there is no neutral. No safe space. And there is definitely no sitting this one out.
The Washington Post tried and failed to sit it out. Elon Musk on the other hand is all in. And apparently all in with Putin as reports emerged of the two conducting back channel communications since 2022. And all in for Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden that felt a whole lot too close for comfort to the historic pre-WWII Nazi rally at the same venue. Although, we’re pretty sure that one had fewer racist jokes.
